Just an idea, Thought It could be interesting to make the exhibition interactive. This idea was to use headphones and to play audio from film(s) or trailers, or maybe a more abstact type or audio taken from the cinema. I think maybe using classic films with a more unconventional way of looking at the idea of what a cinema is (0r what Hyde Park picture house is) This could be interesting as the viewer will listen to randon parts of the film whislt engaging with the alternative imagery in front of them.

James Willis had the idea of instead of just putting our title at the top of our exhibition that we could incorporate it into the whole thing and photos. His idea was to re-create the title on the poster using pins and red wool and to place the photos in and over this design.
We started to create this in our exhibition space yesterday(thur), here are a few snaps so you can see what we were thinking.

A meeting would be a good idea.
Today i printed some tickets out to see what they would look like. Rosie thought this would be quite a nice way of promoting the exibition, we could discuss all this on tue and see what we all think.
-
Sample ticket/flyers, perforated edges. (Info might not be up to scratch though)

yeah i agree with rosie because,i also just need to see where we are at because ive been off the radar for the last week because ive had a lot of stuff ive had to sort out,soz for that guys
I think we need a group meeting to sort out what we are using in the final exhibition and who is doing what. Shall we meet tomorrow (tuesday) after the meeting in our usual studio space?

We need to be thinking about the exhibition sapce. What photographs are we going to use?
I'm happy to make some colour prints in the the colour darkroom, but we need to decide what negs we are going to enlarge. So If someone else can sort out any digital prints we want to use.
Other things to think about:
exhibition layout (within 6'x4')
what can we bring into the exhibition?
How do we present to photogrphs?
I was thinking about the idea of bringing one of the cinema chairs from the basement into the exhibition space. At first I thought this would be quite cheesy. But by placing it in front of the wall it therefore screens the unseen side of the picture house to a spectator who is in a position where they would usually be directly facing the screen: The screen which makes the room a cinema. Or maybe the chair could be used unconventionaly to suggest something else?
It might be a nice to incorperate physical things from the cinema, and therefore pay the picture house another visit.
Maybe we could interview the staff and use that in some way? Give them a polaroid camera and get them to take 10 photos beyond the screen: an extension are thier own self and daily life within the cinema. maybe we could have headhones infront of the images? Just things to think about!

Good work guys. I know the poster is already finished, and I do like it (apart from the title-and I couldn't come up with a better one) but i"m going to put my roughs for the poster design on here for the sake of the asessment, as I didnt put them on last week and I've been away in London.
I was thinking about the objects around the cinema which gave the cinema it's personality. The idea for the poster was to use these objects and simply screen print them along with text. I've tried to question what happens when you put a tootbrush or some cotton buds next to piece of text, I how does the viewer connect the information.(attempting to create interest) Using the concept of it being the small details within the picture house which give it a personality and not the big screen which automatically percieves a room to be a cinema.
The idea was to keep the designs very minimal so that there was just the image and the text for the viewer to use. Screen printing text(mybe just a single word) referreing to a cinema next to a pack of cotton buds or a tootbrust- the cleaning equipment. Or maybe using other items around cinema.

Bloody hell, where did the time go? its Sunday already!
ok, I have cracked on with the ticket layouts if they are still on the cards? I think the biggest problem is knowing how to perforate the two smallest edges? Apart from that it should be sound. Could just use an ancient xerox with pale yellow paper - about 200? more, less? The green lines are where it should be perforated like the original cinema tickets. Jase
